A moment of silence and a thought in my brain...

Ahh silence. As I get a moment to my self I reflect on my parenting methods... The kids are
out side playing with umbrella strollers, one with a baby doll inside the other a stuffed dinosaur I got at Kohls. (awesome someone just got pulled over on my street, It's a long straight road and there is always drag racing going on) Back to my thoughts... I come back inside to continue cleaning my kitchen and decided I can turn the TV off! I am a TV baby
sitter parent. I always have it on in my living room most of the time with cartoons on it for them. I have a movie on in their room most of the time. Something at the ready to entertain them. Why, because I am selfish and have yet to learn that my time is almost always for them. If a fight breaks out I begrudgingly get up from my book, DS, TV show, Computer, whatever and break it up and am extremely frustrated that it happened and that I had to deal with it. Moving on from the bad mom confession... I get to turn the TV off and listen to a podcast and clean (actually update the blog) blah blah blah.
OK peace time is over they are back in the house and I have to start dinner.

Chocolate time!!! Washing the pan before I use it because it is still dirty from last week. Then making basic spaghetti because thats all I got to make.

LOL This is why it is Daring to regain my sanity... I can hardly finish a thought!
(as I read this draft on 7/20/10 and it is finally posted in all it random glory!)

Update and something NEW

I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been working on my house, but alas nothing stays clean and it never looks better. On top of what I have stacked up, I had to add more boxes to my clutter. My mom and step dad sold their house, just signed the papers on Wed. finally. I had some childhood stuff in boxes there so they are all now at my house. AHHHHH I am going crazy! I need to go through all of it and decided what memories stay and what goes. Maybe I will get that done today, my gram is picking my daughter up from school and coming over here. With the kids busy with her I might just accomplish something.

Things have been really tight the last 2 months, that never helps with stress. So I have been concentrating on the outside, I have accidentally started a chicken farm! It started with picking up 11 Banty chicks and now has exploded to around 50 young chickens between 2 weeks - 3 months old. Then we also got ducks and geese 2 weeks ago to add to the frenzy! It's a good way to run away from my mess and clutter as long as it's sunny that is LOL. So along with this blog I will be starting a farm blog, since I have been spending so much time out side working my farm. Not sure what to call the farm yet... trying to think of something unique and fun. I will be selling eggs soon I am very eggcited for that!

Long Week

So we started the week off by going about 30 minuets from home to buy some worms. Yes I said worms! We got a half a pound each of Red Wigglers and European Nightcrwalers. Then we took them home and set up 2 worm bins, for some great natural compost with out the compost pile.

Tuesday and Wednesday we just kind of hung around the house doing chores and cleaning (with not much to show for of course). Thursday we went on an hour drive to buy chicken feed and bunny food because I had a 10% off coupon and forgot to use it. Then my son, pooped in his diaper just as I was putting him into the car (they always do that when it's most inconvenient). There was no place to take him to change him and it was so cold so I waited till I saw a rest stop. Of course was no changing station so I put him onto the counter and changed him there with napkins. No paper towels to dry off your hands, just air dryers. Kinda funny too think about it if I hadn't had any napkins I would have had to hand wash his bum in the sink then try to dry him under the hand dryer... Ha Ha so funny when I actually play that in my head! I can imagine the mother and daughter that went in after us walking in to me holding my son at arms length under the hand dryer trying to get him dry.

Tomorrow my son and I will go to pick up a Silkie Rooster for my baby Bantam chicks while my daughter, is at school. Then go pick her up and later get some baby Quails... Yes Yes I am very much becoming a farmer and very much enjoying it! I love my farm and I love how it is only 5 minuets away from the city so I'm not too far away from a drive through Starbucks! Have I mentioned I love coffee and it is my vice? It might as well be a cigarette to me I am addicted! Hoping to get my dishes done too and as for Saturday It's gonna be a busy day at work! I'm guessing it's going to be a 15 animal bath day plus finishing half of that and sending them home to mommy and daddy looking shiny and new.

Sunday will be family dinner with my mom, and it's my gramps birthday so we will be having a party for him. Then Monday will be here again and it will all start over. I have a new goal to get the house clean... a puppy! I'm hoping that if I can get it clean and get stuff OUT we can get our first puppy. Yes we have 2 dogs, but one is 12 and the other is 6, my husband and I have never had a puppy together and they are so darn cute I want one! I wish he did too, we will see. That was this week, wish me luck on the next!

A day for me

It has been a crazy week. My close friend is in the hospital, so I have been taking care of her and her house. She has a couple dogs so they are really upset that mommy isn't home right now. I'm at the library getting a couple hours peace while my mother and Gram are watching my babies. I got to go online last night and update my podcast. I found this great new one called "The Because Show" I listened to their newest podcast and loved it and am now hooked! I haven't had time to really read any of their blogs but I am sure they are just as great as their show. Hopefully I will be either getting my computer fixed soon or getting a new one so I can stay on top of my own blog as well as reading others that I enjoy. For the first time in a while I feel some peace in me, I have been so stressed out about my house that I can't ever seem to relax!

Spring is on it's way here and I am now on 2 acres of land and I plan to make use of it. I think I have at least 30 veggie and fruits planned to grow and I plan on selling the leftovers and donating them to the local food bank. I also plan on adding some fruit trees. On top of a giant garden I am going to build a double chicken coop, to house both ducks and chickens and adding an addition to my home so my kids can have their own rooms. We also need to re dig ditches so we can have less standing water in the winter. Oh so much to do and I can't wait!

Cleaning for today: I got all the dirty laundry out of the house and am going to the laundry mat to wash it all. Then when I get home I will clean around and in all of our dressers so the clean laundry will be put away not set on our couch to get dirty or cat peed on again! Believe me this is a big chore, one of those ones that you do so much, but it looks like you didn't do anything. Off I Go!!!!!

A Day Out

Today I went all over with my kids and while we were at McDonald's i jotted down some thoughts. Yes I am still in the stone age I do not have a laptop. Here it is

"Another New Years, lets call it a goal... Try not to boss my sweet kids around so much. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong, maybe I say no too much. Driving in the car today, that is all my son was saying No!No!No!No!No!No!No!No!No! and when I would ask him to please stop saying that, he would reply "NO!". Being Daring today I have gone to Post Net and our local Co-op with my 2 "Angles" lol. We are now at McDonald's re-fueling and I may even dare to take them to the library... May Ha ha, we'll see how my son feels in 5 Min's, when I think he will crash. Gosh I wish I had a lap top, I could be typing this instead of writing it down on the church bulletin from last weeks service."

"As predicted here he comes screaming to me, he has hit his mouth on something, now 2 seconds later he is off running around again like nothing is wrong. Can I just say that it really sucks that Burger King and McDonald's are the only fast food eating establishments with play areas. I am a big fan of Wendys, I like their nuggets WAY better than anywhere else, you can get a medium pop that is the size of an extra large pop anywhere else but cheaper, they aren't the cheapest , but I am willing to pay more for a play area there! I also like that instead of the plastic toys they will have books on CD sometimes and I love that! My kids can't sleep with out their book playing, what a great idea. OK almost done I have 1 more gripe. The new Alvin and the chipmunks came out in theaters and McDonald's obviously had the rights to the toys, I don't really care about that. What bugged me was that The Simon chipmunk toy would say "Da da da da da I'm lovin it" McD's theam song and the Theodore said "I'm Theodore ha ha ha ha ha" why not have them all sing the stupid theam song. I don't know it's silly, but it bugged me."

That was as far as I got before a stampede of Teens from the local High school came to eat lunch. Yikes I grabbed my kids and got out of dodge, it's OK if there are 1 or 2 of them but there had to be like 30 kids from the high school in that tiny McDonald's! We did go to the Library and my daughter got her first library card, so cute. We weren't there long, and I managed to grab a copy of Twilight, we'll see if I end up reading it. As for the cleaning of my house I didn't get much done just a few dishes, but thats the way Thursdays and Fridays are when I am forced to leave my house to pick up my daughter from pre-school. It's only 2 days now but in the fall it will be 3 days and then kindergarten... life goes way too fast.

New Years Resolution

So today I took a bunch of pictures of my house, It is driving me crazy! We moved over 7 months ago and we are still unpacking. You know how you have the perfect plan and every thing is just going to go great and there will be no stress? Ha Ha Ha, that was me and my husband 8-9 months ago. Getting our new house ready, cleaning painting, updates to it getting done. OK we move the rooms with stuff that we don't need right this moment. We did do some of that, and the plan was to move a room at a time and unpack it before the next round of things came to the new place. Some people don't have that chance to do that, but we did. Then it happened, I had been waiting for it for almost a year. The deck/walkway in front of our apartment was being resurfaced and of course it was going to happen the month we were planning all this nice organized moving. We talked to the men and they gave us 4 days to get all the heavy lifting items out of our apartment. So we packed everything up and got it all out. I should mention that had we not made this deal we would have had to move everything around the back of our building past 5 other apartments then down either a path to the guest parking or down a set of concrete steps to our truck. Either way it was a very long way to make my poor husband with his bad back move furniture. We moved it all and it never got unpacked. Now I have clothing, holiday stuff, garbage, and everything else piling up around me and I can't stand it anymore!

I have decided that I am finally making a New Years Resolution get my house clean and keep it clean by the end of 2010. I have also decided that I will be blogging about it and other things regularly in hopes of keeping myself accountable! If you are reading this please, any tips or encouragement is so welcome, and thank you for reading.
